John C. Macdonald


Canadian born actor, John, is featured in Dustin Lance Black’s WHEN WE RISE, directed by Gus Van Sant; as well as Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis’ part coming-of-age story, part horror story, Freeform’s DEAD OF SUMMER. John also starred in LOOK AWAY, a psychological thriller directed by Assaf Bernstein.

John studied acting at the University of Winnipeg and graduated from the Honours Acting program. During this time, John landed his first major role, playing Jesse James in the syndicated American television series THE PINKERTONS, starring Angus Macfayden, and Jacob Blair. The series has since than been picked up and aired by affiliates all around the world. Also leading to representation with John’s current manager Francis Okwu of Capstone Management, CA, and agent Tyman Stewart of The Characters in Vancouver, BC.

John has also been featured in the Dreamwork’s picture A DOG’S PURPOSE, directed by Lasse Hallestrom and starring Dennis Quaid, Britt Robertson, and Bradley Cooper. In order to hone his skills as an actor, John has been tutored by Tammy Gillis and Jeb Beach & Associates for the past two years, concentrating on his film and television techniques.
